I do not work or know anyone who works for the RACV but we came to grief on our trip to Darwin. We paid $166 for full cover and it has saved us thousands.. 300k tow, rental car and accomodation for up to 10 days. We used 3 days. 4 taxi rides up to $55, Other taxi rides to garage and back and if need be 1 free tow to anywhere in Ozz plus the cost of getting us there.

We can now carry on but without the RACV we would have been stuffed.

The service was fast and friendly and in this day and age rare. The stress we had was nothing to what it could have been. Age and condition of van made no difference but make sure you are in good nick before you go.

10 out of 10.

regards

Philip

i have allways had this cover but have never had to use it knock on wood.
as snifter said if you do a lot of travelling in your vw its a great cover to have check it out i believe its all the road side services have this option.
the best example of this is about 12 years ago a
lady from nth queensland travelling in w.a.in her
kombi with two kids, the motor blew & that was it dead well she had this cover with the qld branch, they put her kombi on a train from w.a.
to n.s.w.then on a truck to her mechanic in nth
qld & they put her up for accommodation then on a bus to syd then a train to nth qld to her door how much! nothing yes nothing because she had the extra cover i mean its only about
$100 more than the service cover for a year no
insurance can ever beat that.
you might never use the cover but its a great insurance against breaking down a long way from home, i like if you can get it fixed where you break down they put you in a motel for about 4 days with a hire car to continue your holidays while car is being fixed.
rating out of five.

I've got full NRMA cover on my veedubs, and the kombi has NRMA fully comp insurance (the bug has Shannons fully comp). The NRMA have been brilliant with every incident, the money I paid in premiums has been paid back many times over in tows, repairs, and great service.

If you are going on a road trip, GET FULL COVER! It's well worth it :thumb

I have full RACQ coverage on the Bug and Camry. Came in handy last year when I was on a junket to Mackay and the Camrys battery decided to pack it in on the wife. One phone call and was all sorted instead on heaps more to help her sort it......top marks RACQ

RACQ coverage for the car is one of the most important things, within 2 days of taking it out husband ran out of petrol, so out they came with a tin to get us going again. We are in Ultra (top) so have no qualms about running around the countryside as we know we will always get home again.
