As some of you are aware Blutopless and I are in the process of restoring a 57 oval. Currently it has one piece windows but we are undecided whether we should keep em or go back to two piece? The look we are after is going to be "period sensitive", want it to look like something out of the 50's but not too stressed if it is not original ie: will be having popouts, empi 5's etc etc.

What are the thoughts of the forum?

No one has said anything yet so i will

One piece "look" good..... from a distance.

I have seen a few cars with them and i have seen 2 good ones.

Most leave a great hole at the front where the scraper rubber meets the felt where the 1/4 vent went - or rather doesnt meet.

Besides that they "generally" rattle and leek.

Personally I love 1/4 vents opent while blatting down the high way on a hot day.

I also hate 1/4s that slam shut at 60km/hr

I was a big fan of the one piece in my younger days but since then have come back around to the original windows.

yep... these are some of the issues we are considering in our decision... the present one piece windows in the car are missing a little of the window rubber - like it is not quite the right length etc... so dont know if they are from a kit or they are cut from another source.
Personally i am not sure which i would prefer but am leaning toward the original set up. probably easier to get the glass done too.
see.... air and water do mix 😉

Like the look of one peice and am thinking of trying to find a set of split front glass with the little missing bit at the top. Do what you want not what everyone else want!!!

C'mon kids gather round,
there's a new sensation hitting town,
It's moving straight, low to the ground,
it'll pick you up when your feeling down.

The 1/4 vent window shaft can be tightened so it wont shut at 60km/h when it is opened. I like the original 1/4 vents too.
