Anyone know from this photo or chassis number, whether these are orignal windows in the back, or was it a panel...

Chassis number 1246027

Cheers

ok if we are sure that it was originally a panel, what options do I have to get it back to original?

Weld the windows up - resource some panel doors....

Is it possible to put original windows in ??

Anyone done this or got any advice or panel van cargo doors?

I will chase the correct chassis number

Cheers

I can get my head around welding up the windows but would it be easy enough to get the inside looking original,

or cover it?? never had a panel.... only window vans - what d'you put on the inside??? roof lining and side lining?!?!?

Hey, Panels are bare inside, do what ever you want to, carpet it, door panels are readily available from most places..

other thing would to find a whole donor vehicle with a good panel side, i have one but with only one window in it, still you will need to weld that in, less messy than welding the three windows up i spose..

here is a pic

Look in the last issue (I think) of Ultra VW, there is a splitty van which has had windows cut in and then welded back up. The whole bus has then been stripped to bare metal and lacquered, looks gorgeous.
Its totally inpractical to use a panel van as a regular driver with no interior panels due to noise.
Weld them up and line the inside you will never know or just keep them, its your bus.

Have you found a two or three digit number starting with 2 ???
Should be to the right hand side of the engine, below the fuel tank.

G'day,
It is a '64 Panel and probably an ex Gov dept ie: Lands dept, State Rivers, Parks and Wildlife, etc, these depts ordered Panels and had the windows fitted predelivery and generally from the same dealer each time, so the side windows always seem to be the same shape through the years. A mate of mine has a '67 ex Gov Panel with the same windows as that.
Cheers, Ian.
