When my Dad gave me his Type 3, it had a book in it with service prices - it was for 1970! Wouldn't it be great to pay $9.75 for Maintenance and Lubrication.
If you can't laugh at yourself you can't laugh at anyone else! Because life is to short not to LAUGH
35 pounds for a engine rebuild!
A VW for everyone!!
1972 1302 German Look
1971 Bay Panel with Subaru EJ20T
1970 Type 3 squareback in progress
1971 Type 3 notchback in progress
15 pounds, 4s and 2d a fortnight clear for a first year apprentice on the NSW Railways in 1962 and that was above private ent. apprentices! Those prices weren't that attractive. In 1970, the wage for a toolmaker was around $80 per week less tax. Even that $9.75 didn't get spent that way without a bit of thought!
yup that's the thing sounds cheap until you correlate it back to the wages at the time
