The last two weeks I have been running regular unleaded in my Beetle, when usually I would be using Premium Unleaded.... except almost $1.50 a litre is a ripoff. So it's regular unleaded for me! I can't see petrol going down in price.... so it's the price we'll pay for enjoying to drive.Doug Sweetman wrote:Personally ? I paid 137.9 for standard unleaded 2 days ago because I refuse to pay 146.9 for Ultimate which I have always run my car on. Its the first tank of standard ULP I have ever run in the car. I'm seriously thinking about buying a motorbike, or trying to ride my pushie more often to cut down on my fuel costs, because I have other areas I'd rather be spending that money.
I dont know what the answer is to make petrol cheaper. I dont think there is one. My suggestion, which is made in the recognition that 99% of the worlds economy is tied to oil in one way or another, is to try and make yourself independant to the oil price - ride, walk, jog to work if possible, as petrol is going to get much more expensive than it is today in the future.
