Just wondering if it would be possible to cut out a roof section from a donor bus to replaced the poptop in my bus and weld it in. Ive been told that its not possible coz the sheet metal will warp too much. Anyone done this or something similar?
cheers
couldnt you just stitch it in ( 1 inch foot gap / you get the idea) with a litle mig with a cool rag to cool dack down too?
just an idea but youll have to take you time. i would say youll could do it with a little mig
( i usually work with about 3 mm sheet ) besides who would se a little bit of a warp?? the pop top section wont warp and the rest you can hide with upolstering and bog so...
cheers dub
Kimm at Indian would be the man to talk to. If he could get the sides of his Limo dead straight, and i mean DEAD STRAIGHT, then you could get the roof right. He said something similar to dub-buggier a while back. Call him and ask him what size wire and stuff he uses.
We got a good famly friend whoz a panel beater, if we supplied everything and cleaned it all up im sure he would do it for super cheap. I was just wonder if it was possible and it seems like it is so i will look into it gettin a replacement roof then go from there :-)
any more comments please do post!

since you have to weld would be that hard
