Hi everyone,

I'm trying to convert a type 3 engine into type 1. I need the type 1 stuff. Here is the list of stuff that I need.
- generator stand
- tin wares
- pulley
- oil cooler tower
- type1 blower and fanshroud
- generator (can I use the type 3 generator?)

What I got is everything you need to run type 3 engine. Just imagine a type 3 engine stripped into long block. I stripped the parts and if anyone wants to swap these parts please contact me through this forum or email me at kodokmerahjambu@optusnet.com.au

Cheers

I did this swap a few months ago.
you will need to get the adaptor for the dipstick which goes where the type3 oil fillers is , you can get this from most VW shop for around $15.00.

No you cannot use the type3 one as the upright gennie has the fan on the other end you will need to get one fron an Beetle.

Thats about all I can think off for now.

Good luck

Yes oil senders/sensors use BSP thread which is tapered..

best to use pipe thread teflon tape on the thread and do up with a small wrench/shifting spanner....

Don't do up with a large spanner as You will crack the case

While You are doing the swap.... and Your engine is a 1500....
Use a doghouse oil cooler/fan housing etc....
for better cooling....
