Here's a good reason,,

My Kombi, something goes wrong, I can pull the entire engine out in around an hour (by myself), fix pretty easily (when I can get parts) and be running again same day..

New (plastic) cars that depreciate more each year than what I paid for my car,, If they break down, open the bonnet, sigh, close bonnet and call mechanic..... $$$$

Sure my kombi is slow, but it makes you appreciate the journey, not just the destination..

I love the fact that Beetles make any person smile when they wouldn't ordinarily be smiling.
I love it that every Beetle is different, especially those little idiosynchrasies.
I love how they bring everyone together, no matter what race or religion.

I love seeing the bruises on the school boys arms who I drive past regularly... :P
I love my Pretty Blue Bug so much more than the new Honda I sold to get it.
I love it when I get waves not only from other VW drivers, but from people in their new Mercs and Beemers, Utes and Minis.
