Well this evening my square was sold. Very sad time as i loved it to bits however not is all as it seems. I'm a firm believer in positive thinking and with the bad is always some good. Some of the good being i have converted a none vw driver into a type3 resto freakoid! VW cherry popped!
As you may /may not know my mum is very sick and i'm leaving Oz to return to be there. This has meant leaving everything i have struggled to get and the things i love. It was a dream when i got my residency and now i'm going back. Though i have the option of a return visa i doudt i will use it.
When i got the call about my mum my whole world turned into a massively huge shit pie and i got it straight in the face. For me there is no other thing to do and i made my choice though it really has been the hardest thing to get my head around. Now this is where positive thinking comes in.
Since my choice to go back the following has happened. I have a choice of 2 good jobs to go to , thanks to not burning bridges and also the internet! I also have a unit already lined up , near my folks place. Also comes with big garage which is the main thing! So i'll be next to my folks , in a nice pad and garage space , brilliant! So all's not too bad. A girlfriend would help but eh can't have it all
I'd like to say thanks to all the folks that have showed concern and said so many nice things. It does mean alot , truely it does.
The square has been sold tonight and on this matter i'd like to say a few words. Firstly i'm so chuffed that everyone liked it so much. The guy thats bought it has the right idea and i know it's gone to a good home and will be pampered as much as it does by me. Always nice that. Secondly AVD
This place is awesome , no other word. Since my first days here i have found everything. I learn't so much , chatted for hours upon hours about everything and anything and always been met by enthusiasm l. I've bought , sold , advised , been advised , been told off , started the biggest wind up for girls on a certain post and generally looked at this place as my lifeline.
The mates i have met through here are all legends and what with the cruises , shows and garage w'ends it's been really good. I have always bagged the Ozzy scene but it has been pretty good to me really. Thanks for all the help from all over Oz , has been wicked.
Regrets...none really........apart from never pashing Dodge:kiss LOL she'll kill me for that!
I'm going home very soon but will get a date where we can have a beer or 10 and a final catch up.
Now i started this by trying to get a message across aswell as to thank a few people. Something the last few weeks have shown me really. I'm hoping that maybe we all can draw good from bad and no matter how shitty things get , you must always stay positive and be thankful for what you do have and the family around you.
Hope i've made a little dent in the vw world since being here and you're all only a keyboard away.
I've saved the best til last. Now you all know i like my dubs and you know it wouldnt be too long before i'm behind the wheel of another soon. Well this is what positive thinking does for you.
A deal has been agreed earlier on today and although not mine yet ( deposit pending and details yet to sort) this is hopefully my new ride in the UK around late Jan. Jumping the gun slightly but there you go. Will come with 4" narrowed beam and drops. Will get the Dannyboy treatment big time! Thanks Mark in the Uk for the help so far.

like everyone else on here will, i'm going to wish you fare well and good luck in your future, no matter what lies ahead of you. its a rough journey down the path less travelled, and few are brave enough to cope.
i loved seeing your square at the shootout, and its a shame there wont be any more dannyboy creations on australian roads.

can empathise with you an a few things, but am gald that you are doing what you want to do (head back and be with family). Trust me on that one, as hard as it is, its well worth it (so far at least for me).
Keep the option visa open though, as you said, don't burn bridges 😉 we do have better sun down here you know......
The new car looks sweet, nice swan mirrors (or whatever they are called) they just look cool.
Good luck pulling when you get home, sure it won't take long.

Danny, it's been a real honour to know you. You are one of those people who deserve to do well in life, because you work so hard and have such a positive look on life. Don't lose it.
