In the 1980s when I was a hippy on a hill on Israels Road near Quaama, just north of Bega in NSW there was a local rabbiter who was renowned for the car that he drove when he went all over the farmers' paddocks hunting rabbits.

This fellow was enormously fat and he had a little skinny mate. They had 3 fox terriers and a couple of ferrets. They all squeezed into a standard Type 3 Fastback and went everywhere they needed to go in it.

There is a lot of steep rocky ground strewn with big tussocks on the back blocks. He told me in answer to my question as to why he drove that car and not a Landcruiser ute like everyone else in the area did, that it was all he needed and that it had never let him down in years of hard rough work.

He's probably still out there, chugging about in it after rabbits.

i think someone on this forum bought that car a couple of years ago, i remember seeing a pic that was found in the glove box of a late type 3 posted here of blokes fitting the description and some dead rabbits in front of the car.
