the S's are better

I had heard the T was just de-tuned S but i have since found the S had a MUCH better motor

They apparently came stock with nicasil cylinders and alum pistone (or other way round)
This is what L&N Eng based their nickies on

Hey... i wouldnt knock back a T .....but if you can find an S, then THAT would be my choice

The "S" was the middle model between the Carrera and the base 911T.. Had same displacement motor (2.7) but internals slightly different gave it a better compression and more HP.. Try and get a 74- on Carrera if you can. The additional horsepower will be appreciated.. An understated classic that will come of age.. I imagine around 30k will get you a decent one.. Good luck..

Sorry.. A bit optimistic with the 30K.. Just had a look around and 70's carrera's are fetching 40k+

hmmmm..........just been searching

MOST of them have had body kits.

Trying to find a nice unmolested one might be hard

you'd be lucky to find a decent s for 30g
a customer just bought an s for 30 needs paint,got rust,needs engine rebuild and it's a sporto
a decent t would cost you 40-60
if you find something in melbourne give us a ring at auto coupe 94311663 and we can check it out for you.
this is what we specialise in
try the australian 901 registry or ring russell at the healy factory he has a good range

thanks guys ... nice to have a reality check ... I imagine that a 30k'er with problems would soon be a 40ker. Buying with a more long term view, so guess I'll give it a miss and keep looking....don't want anything modded up with body kits etc., as near to as it was meant to be as possible....
