1600 twin carby Beige Squareback. I just love saying that! 🙂
The car came with original purchased paperwork and log books and even the original RAA booklets and VW accessories booklet in mint condition.
The original owner on the SA car owned it until she passed away sometime in 98. Her grandson purchased the car then and it made it into the hands of the guy I purchased it from yesterday.
So much history for the car it was an absolutely awesome find.
Hope to take some pics today and I'll post them online as soon as I can.
It's a little rough around the edges but when the lift up the front bonet it's like new under there. Door panels and seats are like new but the floor pan is rusted right through behind the front seats.
The engine ran like a dream and it was a hoot to drive home. Too bad the car isn't registered as I'd love to take it out for a spin again today. 🙁
I plan on restoring the old girl to her former glory at some point. Not sure when the resto will start but I'll post pics in the tech section when i start.
I wasn't actually looking for a resto car but when the guy said he was going to scrap the car I couldn't see that happened and brought it home.
Lucky for me I have a fantastic wife.
