someone was asking the other day about how to wake a sleeping engine i just cant remember where its posted
i had to go through it again today
i needed the black bug out of the shed today so i could access the hoist so i whacked in an old 1600 i had sitting in hibernation and for the first time in 17 years she had some aircooled horsepower again LOL
the twin coils and radiator/fuel lines are from the old engine
this 1600 hadnt been running for over 4 years, coming back from the 2002 show at coomera the oil seal let go
i put a new one in yesterday and got it going today
i just put in some fresh oil, cranked it with the coil unplugged for a bit then filled the carby bowl up plugged in the coil and she started first go, oil light went out straight away
i havent had a chance to sort the tanlge of efi hoses so it was just drinking from an old whipper snipper fuel tank on the roof
this was also nessacry as the fuel pump decided not to work so i gravtiy fed the carb
i ran it for a 15 mins at 1500rpm till it started running out of fuel
then under the cover off dark 30 mins ago took it for an italian tune up around the block
came back shes purring like a kitten
