Is there such a thing????? I am after a 1974 Beetle (year important as I want it to be born the same year as me!!!). I like the sound of owing a "superbug" but I have yet to see one...... Heaps of 72's, 73's and 75's but I am yet to see a 74. Where they made in 1974 ??????
see.... air and water do mix 😉

Yes 1974 Super Beetles were made ...
and called "L" Beetles in Australia...
they were actually model 1303S..
and were not really accepted by VWophiles back in the 70s & 80s because of their curved windscreen....
so many of them ended up on the scrapheap [wreckers].
Many VW beetle owners thought that REAL Beetles had a flat windscreen...
And they also made the NON Super beetles in 1974....
with a flat windscreen etc....

I dont think so :kiss

Seriously 1303's came out in 1973 in Australia, so i am intrigued how a 1974 1302 is possible

1971-1972 1302 or Superbeetle S in Aust.

1973 - 1975 1303 or L Bug in Aust

TP be honest - 1974 is probably the most common of the Supers

i got one to
bugs after about 73-74 arent as common cause they were just so expensive compare to the toyotas and dattos u could get at the time for cheaper
75 and particular 76 Lbugs are the least common of all superbugs
in 72 my old man bought a brand new corrolla for $2400 and that was including on road costs
the original owner of my LBug said he paid $3100 for it on the 17 january 75 and the only accesory he got was a crappy AM radio

look for the 3rd digit in the chassis number make sure its a 4 , this is the best way to find out the year the car. i am suprised that you cannot find one they seem to litter the streets around here.
