Gday all,
I have a couple of Haynes manuals for sale to suit any kombi from 1972 (inclusive) upwards,, a must for anyone working on kombi's!!
Both have all steps listed (with photos) so you can do pretty much everything yourself.
SOLD - 1st is for 1700/1800/2000 engines (1697cc, 1795cc, 1970cc), great book, $25 + postage - SOLD
2nd one is for 1700/1800 engines (1697cc, 1795cc), couple of loose pages, $20 + postage
Only difference between them is the 1st book includes 2lt engine stuff (no real difference from the 1800,, 99% the same). All the rest is near identical..
Cheers
Dave

hi,how in depth is the auto section ,does it have much info on rebuilding a transmission? ,cheers ,jack
It has a chapter for the manual (20 pages includes final drive) and auto (11 pages), looks pretty in depth, plenty of pictures, dissassembly and reassembly, etc
Quote from book
Auto transmission - "If things go wrong the only thing the owner driver can do is to locate as accurately as possible what the trouble is, remove the transmission and split it, taking the defective item to the VW agent for an overhaul (needs specialist tools)"
Has a few basics on tests, maintainence, removal /replacement, torque converter repairs, final drive unit, governer, gearshift mechanism - not sure if it is detailed enough for an overhaul, but would be helpful in diagnosis.
