I saw this Kombi on eBay. It seems pretty cheap, what do you guys reckon?

I reckon you're the seller.
I could be wrong.

I like the questions to the seller, one person wants to use it for drifting and the other for transportation of illegal substances.

I'm not the seller. I'm into the Rat Scene and have been watching this forum for some time for that reason only. I don't know anything about VW's or using forums really. Have had in mind to pick up a cheap VW to rat for some time so I just wanted to know what some of you VW experts thought of the Kombi. Sorry if I shouldn't mention eBay on here. Didn't mean to upset anyone.

No problem with mentioning ebay on here....i think the issue lies in that you just posted saying basically "look, a kombi.".... and didnt bother to explain yourself, which can piss people off cos they don't know what kind of advice you are after.

Anyway... as pete said... cheap often = rusty... and just by looking at the pics, i'd say this one is far from being an exception. But on the flipside it is going for a few hundred bucks... and it aparently runs well, not a deal i'd turn my nose up at if it were within my means to transport it.

But given that... it'd be good to be prepared with either a welder and some metalworking skills, or a wad of cash to pay someone who does have them... cos the rust around the screen and in the floor will need fixing ASAP...it will only be ignored by the inspecters for so long before they fail it. 🙁

I'd excercise caution when buying it on its apparent roadworthyness... you may certainly be able to buy it with rego and a roadworthy... however that doesnt mean it will necassarily pass rego in your hands... this guy may know somebody that you dont, if ya get my drift. 🥷

So anyway... seems like a goodish rat candidate, but make remember that if it turns out to be a POS then you are stuck with it unless you can flog it to another sucker. but for a few hundred bucks, Its maybe a chance worth taking if you have the money on hand to gamble with. 👍
