my friends and I are currently in the process of planning a sortof "roadtrip" up to queensland, and I am wondering what's cool up north (not way north, up the coast until maybe a little north of brisbane)? we are gonna be heading north mid-julyish and we need places to go to with things to do there, so we have a kind of base for our trip. also any good camping grounds? or hostels? any suggestions in general? none of us know the northern parts 😀
thanks guys, karina

Come up to Noosa and book into a certain French named resort then complain about your room. You'll just love the response you'd get from the pom on the front desk!!!!!! P.S. That pom also owns a couple of VWs, plus check out the kombis in the carpark owned by the blokes in the Noosa Longboard shop they're sweet.

Come to Melbourne and hang out in pubs and see bands in seedy joints, eat kebabs at 3am in the morning, sleep in till 3pm, spend all ypur money don't wash, pick up chicks/ dudes/ whateva, go to VW shows.
All this with rain just about every bloody day :cussing
we are meant to be camping or sleeping in the kombi...we thought maybe it would be too cold to go south so thats why we chose north, maybe if we drink enough we wont feel the cold?
🙂
no rain here tho..:cry we need some bad..

we are going to get maps tommorow...i think north is the way personally :bounce we'll see what the others think :sandrine
🙂
I think Maleny is a great way to go but there are some great camp sites just out of Woodford, bit cold now and you have to take your own firewood. Eumundi is lovely and they have the markets, Noosa is lsmall and intimate and has that real let your shirt tails out feel. But if you want to go for a real time travel, then Far North is the way to go, we are on holiday here all the time, well until Monday morning anyway
Wendy
Just hanging in there.......soon.....
i personally cant stand noosa.

Nick I agree with you whole heartedly but most of the pricks (not all of them though) are up here on holiday!!!! By the way Karina bypass Noosa and go over North shore via Tewantin camp at the Wilderness camp and go for strolls up the beach, laugh at people getting bogged in their 4x4's at the first cutting and have a drink at the pub there, a lovely spot and you could feel like you're a million miles from the snobs in Hastings Street.
i think we're forgetting Harry's Diner
friday june 2 🙂

i dont think wed be heading much further north than brisbane...but maybe plans have changed to go to the snow and do a big loop and get back to the coast at coffs...i dont know! its so hard to organise things when everyone has their own idea of where they wanna go!!!!!!!
