the mods I,m doing are L300 double wishbone front end & complete 944 rear end channelled 60mm higher these mods will allow me to run the wheel size I want and come in on wheeltrack compliance .The big question is what pan to use and which is stronger any help .the body is 56
pros and cons: 56 pan car get registered as 56 .
74 pan orignal weight of car is heavier if CC,s engine size x orignal weight comes in vic road regs it will comply .
thanks Malcolm.

I don't think there is any difference.... with torsion bar front end chassis....
apart from the rear body mounts...... and better heater controls...
I would stick with the 56.....
Its going to save You a lot of headaches....

You can always change the chassis number if You wanted to go the otherway.....

The main reason people use later chassis, is to gain the ball joint front suspension....

I used to own an L300... really liked it....

cheers

I used to drive it like I was in a hotrod :P:P:P

Used to pick up a rear wheel now & then when corning hard in the main street....

I didn't know they used the front end for hot rods...

Mine was greaseable too....

Mitsubishi EXPRESS L300 8 seater....

Hi

Im not sure about the laws in your state, but in NSW the laws for modified cars pre 1972 are much better, so taking into acount the weight V cc issue, maybe a 1972 superbug pan would be the go, that way you also get the IRS pickup points and heavier base car to start off with.

As I understand the ADRs after 1972 the rules change so use an older than 1972 pan or you could get all sorts of grief from rego.
