i got a case, am checking whether its 1600 or not.
Got another, Its F0117514, think its a 1300 (From somewhere or rather, if someone can confirm, would be great 😀)
But, i have sprayed degreaser, got paper on top of it, shaded pencil over etc. etc., tried cleaning it to get something, but just not coming up. What can i do to ID this motor? 1600s' were the only stock tp motors right? is there a way i can check for tp to prove its a 1600 with only a case?
What would u do when it comes to rego? re Stap it with some number of some ruined engine?

Is it printed on the case in more than 1 place?

That case is a Type3 case.
So the number will be on the top seam where the case comes together and it will be on the side of the seam where cyl 1 and 2 are the same side asthe oil filler tube .If you look at the second picture you posted that is the side that will have the number.
Beware that case has no dip stick tube

for future note chris - type 1s came in 1300tp aswell as 1600tp - if ever unsure just measure pistons 🙂

T3? can that be adapted easily to a T1? Just a few little differences? No dip stick? u mean it doesn't come with one when stock?

That is the bottom of the case go directly to the top of the case to where the 2 parts come together in the middle.
That number is the part number it start with 311 which is a type3 part number.
