type 3 detectives and Brian Burrows ( Mr Bug Jam UK etc) mad this beast.
Brian could have gone out and bought a Porker GT3(and has a collection of them) but loves his VDUBS.
He has/ and had some amazing dubs and drag bugs.
If you go on Cal-look.com I think he has a top 10 shoot out car right now.

He is no longer the Owner, it looks like its being sold by Terry's Beetle Services
SORRY BOUT THAT!

If it were mine, I'd never sell it. I don't know what he is thinking. Maybe his wife went nuts and called in the lawyers and now he has to pay for a divorce...and you can hardly blame her. Coz if they're selling it for $75k, you can almost garrantee it cost twice that to build.

$150k spent on a type 3 = wife with bucket loads of wrath. 🙁

That is one big price tag.

Certainly worth the bux, but if i had 75k, I wouldn't necessarily go that way. Imagine what else u can get with that money Hehe. But thats just me.

Would the owner sell the car cheaper if the paint job was more "ratty". Primer would be fine, and maybe a set of cross-ply whitewalls!!
Now ya talkin.

I did some maths a few months back when I was planning to pic up a squareback and I came to the conclusion that you could put a Lexus V8 in the back easily enough...

and it would be LEGAL IN NSW! 👍

Think that over for a mo. 😉

That'd produce a more power than the porsche motor and be a much cheaper conversion. :thumb

So who wants to take up the challenge.

Brian gave it to Puppy (Owner of TIIID) ages ago in trade for a resto-cal squareback that Brian had built (TIIID also built a very sweet 13 window for Brian), and then it sat for while at TIIID. Puppy brought it out fo the odd show, but never really had time for it, so decided to sell it on..... 75K is pretty god price considering what Brian spent.... But it sure is a load of coin!

you guys hav`1nt been readin your mags, especially the TIII dudes out there, you would have seen the 2 white squares together on cover of Volksworld a few months ago, 1 was brians, the other puppies (TIIID owners)...brian asked puppy to build another Streetable squareback that he could use daily, in exchange for his show square that had just won Top of show...

That would be around another 2K (roll on) or 4K in a containter, plus charges and duty. Insurance will be dependant on the usual factors.... But the single biggest issue with this car is the chassis and suspension.... Its got A arm from links, a 911 rear from memory and a custom box frame chassis.... Be tough to rego that sucker here in Oz!

Dont think you'd get much change out of 140K Oz landed!!!!

okay, its nice..but not 140k nice 🙂

now. as far as boxster rims go.

i bought some rims off this forum that were advertised as 996 wheels. i have further been told that they are boxster rims by a seperate party because they dont have a flat face.

now the ones on this car are apparently boxster rims but look a bit more (not flat) than mine.

anyone able to help?

Anthony

Well Anthony, the problem is this.... There are many rims made for many different Porsches, that may look similar, but are not exactly the same.... You can have differing widths, ET's and patterns, that all look identical but are not... It is also quite possible that the rims you have came off a 996, but they may have been optioned or added later or maybe they where off a Boxster.... They could even have come off a 964!... the late 964's had rims that looked a lot like the early Boxster rims, but the ET's and widths where different..... You getting the picture here?... the only way to be sure is to find the model/part # and do some research if your concerned.... but really there is no need.... As long as the width and offset (ET) is within usable spec, you don't have too many issues.... Appart from style of course!
