Not too sure if there is such a thing....A pair of heater block off cover for a beetle's heater tunnel underneath the car. Any suggestions?

What do other people do with heating when they uses fully merged exhaust system?

HELP!

call an auto parts store and get welsh plugs in the correct diameter. They will have them, I have done this many times...
repco or bursons will have them. You must be specific with these stores though, easily confused!
The welsh plugs tap nicely in the heater inlets...

Thanks guys! Will try welsh plugs as they are metal.

Cheers!

Any idea for the heating part?

I am also curious in this heating situation. I was thinking of putting a oil cooler behind the back with a fan on it and having a bypass valve off a lever beside drivers seat so that in summer you can bypass the cooler and not heat up the interior

Welsh plugs are the go, my rags motor is running a merged exhaust and i used them , as ab says they fit perfect.

andrewmurphy i guess you are thinking of putting the cooler behind the rear seat? I wouldnt be putting it inside the car mate unless the car is special purpose. I have a competition oil cooler with in built thermo fan, it is a bit tricky but keeping it outside with passing colder air is the go. Oil coolers need that air flow mate, the bypass valves are available and automatically switch thicker cold oil from the cooler.

Actually was looking at 2 coolers one under the car for summer time to cool the oil and one inside the car for winter to warm the inside of the car. has anyone done this and does it warm the car enough or is there another form of heating that does not involve air passing over the exhaust system????

Hi

Sometimes pressure pack lids will fit, the heaters are important for preventing rust in the heater channels, make sure you do some rust prevention if your not going to use heaters.

Mal, is that a question or a remark? hehe.... but if i can use the heater channel i would!! BUT i cant, so have to think of somehting else. Rod gave me a good idea of using kombi fans and route the hot air from external oil cooler through the heater channel but i don't know whether it will be efficient enough or not.

use a electric heater thats what I,m doing and have a diverter valve to dry out the heater channel.Or use cheap throttle bodys and have solinoides operating them heat wont soffen alloy and no cables .
