Well I had 73 type3 as a daily driver for 2 years with a 2l type 4 motor and for the last 12 months have had a 73 BAJA for daily driver

The type3 was a better ride softer but with standard shockies it did not handle to good, the baja is a lot of fun but a bit harder on the ride.

i like both, if I had to choose I would go for the type3 with better shockies.

uni cycle?

Bugs are tight and got no room really..., Type 3s are great to hoot around in, zippy, and can store a ship load of stuff on it... whether it be fasty, notch or wagon...

kombis are good too, little heavier and bigger engine, greater fuel consumption... but ay... i would say kombi or Type 3... personally, i would be interested in a type 3.

New engine in process: 94mm p&bs, 74mm C/w chomol Crank, 35.5x39 SP heads, turbo. Wierd combo, hopeful torque monsta!

A well restored Fiat 2300S. I had one in the 1980s and I would have another if they weren't so expensive.

Having driven a lot of cars over the years, I'd have to say the T3 I'm driving now.
600 k's to the tank. Plenty of pull down low & a very respectable cruising speed.
Certainly the most comfortable VW I've ever driven.

I took the bay I've been driving for 13 years for a run a few weeks back. I couldn't believe how cumbersome it was in comparison. I wouldn't even bother comparing it to my 57 bus, except to say, they've come a hell of a long way.

Beetles are fun, & I still have one, but they're not practical for my needs.
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

My daily driver while Veronika is off the road is my V8 Land Rover.
I'd rather drive dads Jag, Cougar or Pontiac.
My super is the one I'd rather drive more than anything (Even though it doesn't come anywhere near the rest in comfort etc).

my kombi, although i would love a humber supersnipe wagon ratted, and as a station hack i would love a baja bug (no need to polish - they look best when they're dirty! 😀)

MMMM not so much. Notch/Fastback has a boot at either end, neither of which can hold much more than a briefcase. The ride a lot nicer than beetles though, and they're quieter> I like em, but not as much as the T2 kombi. A mint bay window with a front sway bar, neg camber and a little more grunt is sex on wheels. Ignoring fuel economy, back seat room and towing capacity, my ideal daily driver is a 911 turbo. The car I would have that would suit every need I have is a t4/t5 tdi caravelle. Alas I have buckleys chance of ever owning either.

I have to agree with Craig....Bently, and VW now own Bently, so that makes it ok...ok.
