But anyways, I got a request to research into the electronic ignition kits. There was a thread up about it. So I thought I might as well post the info up for everyone. I get no commission at work; this is a non-profitable, non-advertising thread. I get paid by the hour, regardless of what is sold. There are no personal financial motivations; this is just for everyone’s convenience.
DSE (Dick Smith Electronics) sell 2 kits, and another interesting one I found.
(Cat. k3303) Kit Hi Energy Ignition SC 6/98 - $52.88
- Programmable ignition
- Reduces need for tune - ups in cars with points
- Older model ignition kit, discontinued line, although all DSE stores have either 2 or 1 of the cat. K3303 kits left.
(A LOT like this next kit I’m to show you, in regards to what it does, and its systems compatibility)

(Cat. k3305)Hi-Energy Ignition Kit - $59.99
- Later, most recent model that DSE sells.
- Active line of product.
- Older model ignition kit, discontinued line, although all DSE stores have either 2 or 1 of the cat. K3303 kits left.

I rang up DSE work colleagues/contacts, getting 1st person opinions about the later ignition kit (Cat. k3305) and the earlier discontinued kit (Cat. k3303 still in stock), VERY good opinions came through, quote: "Dam good value for money. Bloody great", good quality. Looking on our databases, we are able to observe item movements, including sales and returns, NOT ONE has been returned. Both kits are fairly equal in performance, difference is just the later line of produce.
To give u an idea of how good these were, Rodney (contact from DSE beenleigh), stated his mates were up to mischief on one occasion. Trying to make a flamethrower setup on their mate’s exhaust. A fuel injected car got a max of a 6 and a half foot flame. Had me surprised, 6 and a half feet seams pretty BIG. Would need a heck of a spark to burn a flame that large. The k3303 and k3305 kits are simply just a booster for the electrical impulse leading to the spark plugs. They give an 'oomph' to the charge coming through, IE: bigger sparks.
These kits, are in packs which require assembly, IE: soldering etc..., BUT DO come with comprehensive instructions as to how to put it together, as well as all parts, including a printed circuit board. They even got an tacho kit, with LCD display for a dam good price in the kits (I want to get). They save u alot of money by being in 'kit' format. All u need to do is put some hrs asside and it would be ready in no time (as long as u got a soldering iron, solder, flux etc). And then ur gonna be getting a heck of a spark... Just don't get urself zapped by it... Be worse than the high tension in the standard coil.
