Welcome

Not too sure on pressure but 90 - 110 is good for temp.

70 is too cold and at 125 - 130ish shut down and have a breather

Where ya racing??

Have fun anyway.

Don't shut down at 120, just slow down... But a quartermile squirt shouldn't see you getting that hot anyway.

Would you like me to send you up some Hoodjax?

I've been told 90-100 is OK...

but 120 is getting too hot...

but a VW Mechanic told Me the VW engine is supposed to get hot to boil away the condensation in the oil...
the mayonaise type stuff on the inside of the oil cap..

VW engines were all supplied with a temperature thermostat from the VW factory....

Most were thrown away at the first service...
some one advised all VW Mechanics to take the thermostats off and put them in the bin..

thats why most engines don't have one...
same in the USA...& Canada...
and You really need one in Canada...

probably NOT in Darwin....

I know in my T4 2L the thermostat and thermostat system is vital to get it up to running temp, especially in winter.

On a cold winters morning it takes my bus no more than 10 mins to get oil reading of over 50 degrees. Quick warm ups mean less wear, less fuel consumption (we all love that phrase lol) and hence longer engine life.

thanks for all the advice on oil temp's. I had my first outing at the strip last night, oil temp didnt get over 110 all night. My best run for the evening was 14.330@151.55kph .
keep you all posted on any further improvements.
