Lowering a 1965 bug finding it hard!!!!

Hey guys i have 1965 beetle which has been lowered in the rear but now i need some wheel spacers because the tyres now scrub out on the body mounts, and im not to keen on grinding out these mounts.

So if i go with the spacers which i know are illiegal i need longer wheel bolts which i can find but are 9 dollars a pop and are going to stick out the other sides of the drum's 6mm after putting the 12mm spacers on- will this be hitting anything on the inside of the drum not letting me use them?

I need your help guys.........
