A mate gave me a Frantz Oil Filter. It's a by-pass filter system that uses a standard toilet roll as the filter medium!
Apparently he had it on his bug back in the 60's or 70's.

They are / were made in USA. The filter assembly is attached somewhere in the engine bay (I've even heard of them being mounted outside the body) and is attached to the engine via rubber hoses.
❓.

Has anyone ever used one? I'm reluctant to mess up the originality of my 66 beetle, but he reckons everything is reversible.

Maybe the toilet rolls were different back then...

All of them these days are biodegradeable...

so they May fall to bits.... inside Your engine...

I'd be careful...

better to put a spin on filter on the end of Your oil pump

theyre not actual toilet rolls they just look like them

complete over kill unless its on a 4wd that is out west somewhere where its gonna get alot of bull dust in the oil

they used to shit me when i was working at the garage they can almost double the amount of oil an engine needs
