thats a hard one Malcolm...

as in the USA the 1303 Super beetle had a lot more differences than the car in Australia......

and different countries had different equipment so many of the books try to average the weight out...

the 1303 in the UK had a 1300 engine...

One of My books from the UK says 870kgs..
but they also say the 1500 beetle weighed 870kgs?

I thought the supers were lighter??

the owners manual for my Lbug says 890 but the rego papers only say 860
it usually says 0.95t on the tips weighbridge with me in it (70kg) and full tank but my sub enclosure weighs over 50kg by its self

my Sbug was at 820 but a mate of dads blueslipped it and took it down to a standards bugs wieght of 780 for cheaper insurance or something,
it already said Volkswagen Beetle on the rego not Volkswagen Superb

The 1972 SuperBug, according to the SP Manual for that year - weighs 870kgs. I think this is for the 1302S & 1303S
I don't know if it helps you though- I'll keep looking.
