$100 isnt going to get you much exept alot of trouble and hard work!
you need a trolley jack, bigger the better,if you can lift the car 2 feet you can pull the motor from under it after you have dropped the motor on the floor.
dont get a cheapie from super cheap autos or wherever, it will twist and break, even if you get a good second hand one that will be better than a cheap crap new one!
take care. jon

yeah ive had a few cheapies and WOFTAM to that.. spend some dollars and get a good industrial type one, it'll last for eons.. worth it in the end..
two is better cause you can remove engines from buses heaps quicker.. 🙂

I have 3, a large (890mm of lift industrial one) a smaller one with about 400mm of lift (like a normal mechanics jack) and a little super cheap $20 one which i put in the boot and use to change tires at the track. For $20 you can;t go wrong for changing tires.

i have a supercheap trolley jack and have used it to remove my engine many times with no troubles.

cost about 45 bucks i think its just a little trolley jack but i put a flat peice of wood on the cup to spread the weight and cushin the engine from damage.

a bit more difficult than a larger jack as u have to balance the engine while raising it whereas with a larger jacking cup surface the engine will pretty much just sit there and balance it self.

i have a baja with a reasonable amount of clearance with the rear and i find with the peice of wood it still does the job, otherwise i just put some of my spare lower profile wheels and tyres on the back to bring it down a bit.
