Hello all, the section on the top of the alternator pedestal which the oil cap attaches to is quite loose on the engine I have, how do you tighten this up??

Brent,
1. 1" internal pipe wrench
2. Oil Filler Gland Nut Tool
3. Fabbed up tool you can grab with a shifter
4. Anything to fit in the two slots on the gland nut.
Take off your oil filler cap and see if a circular looking thing with two slots is in there. You may have to dig a lot of crud out to find it.
There is a gasket between the oil filler/breather doohickey and the alternator stand as well.
And in case someone has already had a go, just make sure your stand is actually in one piece and that the neck hasn't snapped!
