Bled the brakes on my type 3 on the weekend and all seemed fine until the next morning when i noticed a pool of brake fluid under the car, dripping where the handbrake cable exits the tunnel. Is there any way of removing the brake line that runs from front to rear to investigate? Or should i forget about it and run a new line on the outside.
(front brakes are ok and holding fluid in the reservoir)
Thoughts??
Cheers
Dave
hey dude run the line INSIDE your car, if you run it underneith it will snag and you'll rip it off - heypresto!! no brakes!! just a tip. cheers jon

Hi
It might be the master cylinder leaking, when they leak the fliud goes back into the tunnel and the fluid will run out at the lowest point depending on the angle the car is parked at. Peel back the boot where the pushrod goes into the master cylinder to check if its wet.

thanks fellas. i will have a closer look at the master cylinder on the week end.
the main brake line might have rusted through as well... you will have to pull the mats n carpet back to look at it
sounds like it could have worn through the metal linewhere it exits the tunnel
theres supposed to be a rubber grommet it goes thro but these go rock hard after 30 years and fall apart then it just vibrates on the raw metal edge
same deal with fuel lines through tinware
