Hey guys.

A few days a go I rear ended my bumper. Long story short, it wasnt my fault as someone else was being reckless, but now I'm down a bumper. Maybe two.

I have the Carerra kit bumpers, which are the fat fibreglass variety. Now ,replacing them is no issue, except for the fact that my indicators are in the front bumpers, not the wheel arches.

Are there available steel bumpers with indicators in them for my front section? It's a 69 Beetle.

Oh, and I'm replacing the front as well, cause If i stuck a blade on the back in steel and left the front with the carerra bumper, it would probably look a bit silly

Idea's? Suggestions? Ridicule? I want it all!

OK

are you going to replace them with blades or squares??

If you are going original then the only model that came out is the late 75-76 square bmper like this one

If you want blades you will have to custome make something like Das Dubber has done with the blue one for sale.

A "propper" 75 bumper in pristine condition complete with rubber strip and indicators are VERY hard to find and expensive if you can.

I did find these though for $150 but they werer in another state. Luckily a mate was driving through that day.

They were pretty banged up though.

But they are what i have on my car now.

These front bumpers are about $300 new excluding indicators and rubber strip properly rechromed.

You can buy repo's but you cannot get them in tripple chrome.
Rear bumpers and earle squares you can. They are $150ish and not worth it as if you rechrome them that alone is $250-$300

I have the following
a repo front 75 bumper that has surface rust
rubber strip in excellent condition
OG VW indicators
tripple chrome rear bumper in great nick
2 OG VW rear bumpers

If interested u2u me and we can have a talk.

Another option is what Egeworks has done

Hi,

You could still just replace the rear bumper with a late beetle one,
even a brazillian one and paint it the same as the front one

no one will probably take any notice...

or replace both bumpers with VW steel ones and paint both...

You can use rusted bumpers , [cheap] just rub the bumpers with wet and dry paper until smooth, and paint with undercoat then whatever colour You want....

cheaper way out...

cheers
