I was notified recently by ebay that the old system, where you saw who You were bidding against, has changed....
Now you will see Bidder1 Bidder2 etc...
this change makes it impossible for someone to contact you to sell You a similar item or give You information that the item You are bidding on is not in fact a 1960 beetle but a 1965 beetle....
I have met many people who bought semi auto beetles after they won the car on ebay....
and sent them any information they needed...
Now I can't....

or also. i check a lot of sellers previous auctions. it allows you to see the dummy bidders... the ones who always bid on items of hte same seller, but never seem to get to win!!!
now this system does not allow you to see this until after.
i recently reniged on a bid purely on principle of seeing hte person i was bidded against was hte same that had bidded on almost all of the previous persons items... but of course only up till almost winning. wnkrs!

wes.. i had that happen, was bidding on some stuff, checked other items and found the seller and the person outbidding me where doing the same thing on every item, reported it and 'they' where banned.... now, as said here, you cant check that..
well i know a few who now will not bid on the bidder1,2 options. hopefully if enough boycott, it can be reversed.
but then commisions talk, and ebay probably dont really give a shit if the value is 'talked up'... jsut a better way to hide it and not have to worry from their point of view also.
