T3 utes? What are they worth?

Looked at a T3 ute this morning. 90 model with a 5 speed, square headlights, etc.

First up, what are they worth? This one has 167k on the clock and is a little rough round the edges.

Secondly, where do they start to rust and go bad. BTW, how do you tell the motor has been looked after with a water boxer.

Some one was selling one for just under $10k the other day.

I have seen them down at $7k as well. Mate just bought one at that

This is dearer than an equivalent Caravelle

The down side to them is usually lack of
*power steer
*air cond
*central locking

Rust ususally isnt a problem

I would try and get it checked by Mullers or some one.

Lou at Regents park has a mobile checking service. He knows his T3's

I bought a carravelle 6 months ago with all the good gear and it is brilliant.
I paid $4,500 for it. Brilliant and very happy

there was a couple of Utes on the net the other week going for about 4 or 5K

The most expensive item is the engine check for water leaks and corrosion around the collant pipe joints

rust in the under tray area
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true
