I have an original set of Type 3 rear drums with matching shoes for sale. I am pretty sure they have only been machined once at the most, as the one size over shoes that I bought for my other set were actually a bit big. The shoes in the picture fit very well and still have a reasonable amount on them.
You will notice one of the dums has a chunk out of the outside edge when some clown tried to bash it off with a hammer I guess. I have used these and there is nothing wrong with them - just no longer needed.
