Ok,

So I've been working along side my mum for about the last 12 months.

We wer fixing up a computer system/office system after an office manager went there after mum retired, and started to change the system. When the system got stuffed up, she quit and left it in a mess.

The owner called mum who called me. Fixed it up, got it running nice, and just when everything was nicely up to date, a new manager walks thru the door and starts making changes, in her first week.

So, I quit!

And I've been unemployed a whole 2 hours, and have two job interviews/requests, because three other owners have been head hunting me for ages.

I get to name my hours and pay....SWEET!

My old boss however, had no idea what was going on, because it was his new partner and new manager who were bringing me in for an 'interview about my attitude' who recieved my notice....(without telling the real boss/owner what they were doing)

As I walked out the door, I could hear the real owner yelling at them....hehe, and my mum is getting calls asking her to do what is necessary to get me back! ....She is saying no (phew!)

What they don't know is....mum's last day is tomorrow as well....

two in 24hours...F U N N Y !

:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P

haha....

offer number 4 & 5 just came in....hehehehe

damn...if i had known how easy i would have it getting a new job, i would have quite ages ago...

apparently my reputation proceeds me....it seems my boss talked up my skills at xmas parties brissy wide...... and had know idea ppl had taken notice....well, that what the last guy told me...

And I was worried because I had nothing in writing....seems the bosses stamp of approval was already out there.....

CHOICES! gotta love it :kiss

PS: Mick...if i got a new life.....i'd miss my dubs....hey, maybe thats the next step...find a vw workshop using autoquote (even they are prepared to give me a recommendation....they found the last two jobs for me 🙂)

I worked for ....well...a workshop in Morroooka....a big one

Where am I going...not sure...have two of the competitors asking for me, plus a mechanics, an engineers and a foster group I once volunteered for asking me to do their accounts....so right now...I have no idea where I am headed.

Y Airfooled?? Would u like a job in smash repairs? I know Domroys is often advertising.....they need workerd in the back area all the time. Or r u offering me a job??

Thanks Jess...like I said, at first i was worried....but now, it seems I'm getting offers left right and center....nothing is standing out to me, three seem really good, but not perfect.....only good thing is that they are all prepared to meet my hourly rate with hassle, so I guess thats a good sign that my work is worth it.

cheers
Beb

Ps: I'd love to be a fly on the wall when mum hands her notice in....hehehe....she's the greater loss to the company...

PSS: Maybe I'll get lucky and get the perfect job...somewhere close to home and my sons kindy, pay I like, boss who smiles...in a VW workshop.....what do u think?? maybe??? aww...come on...maybe.....:P

Got retrenched after 27 years at Qantas almost told the young kid who was advising me that my services were no longer required to go n get he was about 21 or so LOL

I did put my hand up for it so it was worth it in the long run

there's a very special feeling when you quit and the boss/rsole can't get their claws into you anymore. i quit one job and 3 days before i was due to leave they asked me to work casually as a relief for way to much money then after 6mths off 6mths casual i got offered a higher paying fulltime position in the same company. 😁 go figure

exactly....

I wonder how he's gunna be when his competitors ring and ask for a reference....i just wanna list him to hear him scream about it....:P...that's why I am going to that interview tomorrow...I am actually thinking the engineering job is better...but the competitor said he thinks he can make it worth my while to attend...so we will see. 😉

And yes, I knwo if I stayed and saw the big boss and told him what happened ...he would have upped the pay and kept me on (he had increased it just before xmas already...due to my being 'underpaid' )...but who wants to work in that environment where his partner and partners 'friend' are always on ur case...they'd forever be trying to find fault with ur work....

funny thing is...mum and I were the ones who knew how to fix almost every mistake being made...if she leaves...well, it will certainly make it fun for them...😂

never mind...tomorrow is a new day with new adventures.

With soo many job offers maybe you can start handing some out to us lesser lucky 🙂

What field are you in? I must be dumb (not a good thing to say in your CV), but I can't figure out if you are an IT guru, an accountant, a project manager or a business analyst.

I've been all of the above at some stage...

I started in IT approx 85 as a programmer....then moved into tax, where I did specialised projects...bascially a 'fixer' if they had a problem...i'd move in automate it as much as possible, leave checklists and manuals, get it running sweet, and head off to next project.

At one point I was asked to look into a branch that was spending well above normal limits, and was about to be closed down. I worked out it was in staffing - huge overtime, when it should have been necessary - So I analysed who had what skills, what they wanted to do, redrew the staff positions, and voila - shifted ppl into jobs they loved, jobs they were ood, and more efficent at - and saved just over $2 million a year for them....they got to keep the branch where it was, and ppls were happy all round....(no moving house as some were to be relocated up to 50 km away)

I am actually grounded wth feet in both IT and Accounting - and I'm unique in that I worked at Tax, and can look at something from legalisities & systems......Like how to fix an accounting error without getting stuffed in an audit.

Add to it that my anaylitical skills and belief that you not only take a problem to a table, but the various avenues for resolving it, seems to make me unique.

Went to a job today - guy wanted to hire for one position, but now changed his mind, and is looking at me for another. Pay is $30/hour, working from 7am to 3pm, and only 10 minutes from home. he has two smash workshops, and needs someone who can take on dual role of book keeping and office manager, and he wants me to escort he and other manager (female) to shows on systems etc that affect them.

Sounds pretty nifty....so it may be the goer. AM going to give him an answer tomorrow.

He asked if he could call my old boss for a reference - I said yes, but he (my old boss) prolly won't be happy - he said nah, thats ok, I just wanna get up his nose to let him know ur looking around, and we've offered u a job. he has references from autoquote already so he knows I can do the job . he knows my boss personally, and let him know yesterday he was interviewing me today. Apparently he asked Dom what he woudl pay me, and Dom said she's worth every cent she asks for. he figures he'll just let the old boss know, that he agrees.

I think I love the way this man thinks....

😂😂😂😂

so...woo...money......i can finally buy more vw stuff! yeah har!
