so i went and had a look at this car and it appears to be in pretty good nick now my only problems are that it may be just a chop top but i was unable to find a compliance plate on it anywhere.

as far as i was aware they all needed it to be registered. was told it had been registered about 2 yrs ago so dont kno where to go from here to find out more about it i have a chasis number but little else.

from what i can gather from looking it is a 71 maybe super, has vents in dash for heating/cooling? and spare tyre in front lays flat not upright.

chasis number is 1112045737

As i said in my previous post dont know enuff bout these later models and would like to find out if maybe it was a factory chop or aftermarket chop and what i can do about compliancing or even where to start looking

So with the vast pool of knowledge u guys & girls hold can some one steer me in the right directon please
Thanks
Jason

srry forgot link to ebay auction where i found it as has some pics

get the old rego papers or atleast the sticker off him, that should list how the car was registered, hopefully it was called a VW convertible or somethign similar, which would make re-registration easier. make sure all the numbers match the rego and maybe try ringing the rta with the details from the previous rego, they may have the certificate on file.

It is definitley an aftermarket chop top. This means it will need an engineers certificate to register it. If they can't supply this, stay away unless you know an engineer that can get a certificate done for you.
