The last Mexican-made Beetles had bonnet and boot seals that attached to the lids, rather than the body of the car, doing away with the rust-prone seal retaining strip. Are these seals readily available? Would like some for my new project... Hints/advice appreciated!

yep give Vintage a call 9789-1777 there in stock and ive had them fitted to my Orange Smoothie for 5 years work great

The hard part is removing the old retaining strips and repainting the car but if you do while your restoring or modifing then its easy.
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

no cut it off as well and use some Glue you dont need the top retainer section as the seal will hold on the outside with the rubber tits in the corners
