I'm pulling apart my country buggy for restoring and this was the steering dampener fitted to the front suspension.
Has anyone seen one like this before? (funny tube thing on the left hand side of the pic)

Are they just for the country buggy or are they used on Kombies as well???

Anyone know?

Apart from the tube bit on the end its a normal damper for a 1968 beetle...

Beetles didn't use dampers until around 1960...
and I have driven without one...
doesn't seem too much different...
