I've got a 63 beetle that I pulled a 6 volt 1200 out of and am putting a 12volt 1600 in. The 1200 had the old 180mm spring arm type clutch and the 1600 had a 200mm diaphragm clutch in it. I managed to find a 200mm spring arm clutch and put it in in place of the diaphragm clutch. The only problem now is that the clutch pedal feels very soft and it appears that the clutch is not operating. I can't yet start the car to see exactly how it will go but there is definitely not enough pressure in the pedal to indicate that the clutch is operating as it should and I can't adjust the cable up enough to get pressure in the pedal.

Any ideas what the problem might be????
