Hi all

Dont know if this is the right forum but ive decided im going to learn how to work on my van myself. I have a very basic knowledge of mechanics etc, so have found this course :

Im also going to have a career change as office work bores the hell out of me, so doing this course will give me a good idea of what does what in a vehicle.

I know there are lots of people who know the inside of a car like the back of their hand, and im wondering if any of you have advice on what would be the best way to get into mechanics.

Any help would be appriecated 🙂

Apart from career changes etc, if you want to work on your kombi, the first thing you should do is buy a manual. Several manuals actually as some are better in certain areas than others. At the very least get the official service manual and a copy of "How to Keep Your Volkswagen alive" by John Muir.http://www.amazon.com/Keep-Volkswagen-Alive-Step-Step/dp/1566913101/ref=pd_bbs_5/102-5854844-3356152?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186542558&sr=8-5. VW are a good place to start as they are mechanically very simple in comparison to modern cars.
Ain't nothin' like the wind in your hair.
