Are there any PC Gurus out there?
Can anyone recommend a good pop up blocker? I am now getting constant pops after getting infected by a virus on my PC. The PC is now virus free but I cant lose the popups ! everything I have tried hasnt worked.
Norton was useless, stopzilla didnt work. I have tried around 10 different blockers and malware programs but nothing stops the ads. Every scan I do shows the PC as being clean but they keep popping up.
Its driving me crazy!

The latest IE & Firefox have popup blockers built in to them. If you change the settings to block popups and it doesn't help you might need to run something like Ad-aware or similar to search for and remove any spyware.

I have loaded the latest IE but the blocker on that doesnt stop them and even ad-aware hasnt managed to stop them.
sadly your only hope is to reinstall a bugger but the only way i have done it and although a bloody pest now is great and i'm now using all protections
on my other puter im running linex with no worries

re-install ? windows XP or IE ?
Have you changed the pop-up setting under Tools. Change it to High-Block all Pop-ups.
Otherwise boot up in safe mode and run virus protection and ad-aware. It may have hidden itself in an .exe file.

Use Spybot Search and Destroy.
Will remove all adware and spyware from your system and works a treat.
Also immunise your system to prevent further problems.
