Hi all, I'm hopeing someone can help me, I am wanting to cahnge my 71 low-lights wheel from the small 5 stud to the earlier large 5 stud pattern so as to fit the earlier wheels and hub capss
Is it possible to just get adaptors ? where can I get them if so?
If not what other optoins does anyone recommend?
Thanks Carl.

where abouts are u?
altho i think wheel adapters are now illeagle in all states
u gotta do it properly ie have studs pressed in
i changed my bugs but to a smaller one
i dont know that u'd be able to stud late brakes for wide 5 certainly not the discs anyway
u would probably have to look at retro fitting old wide 5 brakes

Sorry guys I shouldve said, We're located at Umina Bch on the Central Coast NSW.
If I cant somehow put the old 5 stud wheels on I guess I'ld consider getting my original wheels widened ??
The look I'm trying to get is of the '70's surfing scene, old bar roof racks with my old mal's on top, retro'ish inside with wide wheels obviously.
My partner and I are doing "Grover" up and need to get some window rubbers for the rear one piece side windows then get some front seats or mine reparired then ready for rego!
Juz [my paryner] has a 74 van with soft top sun roof and we also have a supe bug.

The rear end is easy and pretty cheap.... Get early drive stub axles and drums and they will slip straight up to what you have there already.... As for the front, you have only a few realistic options.... Adapters as you have suggested (not recommended); convert to early drum brakes and you will need the early stub axles also (tough to find the parts these days); or buy an aftermarket 205PCD bus brake kit.... CSP (Custom, Speed & Performance) make the only one I know of.... A little exy, buy a very good quality kit. I do believe there are a few kits in R&D in the US, but I have no info on them at the mo.

Really?.... Wonder how they managed that?

And if you do go with adapters.... Your track will get wider.... As a result, you may get tyre clearance problems!!!
