Asking for my brother.
He is putting a 2ltr Kombi engine into his yellow top chop baja and requires the upright conversion kit.

Does anyone have one?
He knows he can order one from Sharpe built but wants to see whats laying about first.

not that i have a spare one lying around but be aware that if you get the kit from sharpbuilt that you get the conversion input bearing as well mate

ask 66deluxe on here - damo about them.

if you order one - ask around on the forum as others may want one also - save shipping etc.

Buy Australian and get a Sharpbuilt. Easy as to put together and only a phone call away if you have any problems.

RED62E, i have imported a couple of the DTM kits, from aircooled technology, i don't have any on hand at the moment but i will be placing an order for more DTM and other type 4 parts in a few weeks. In order to install a 2 litre into a type 1 trans you must use a 210 or 215mm flywheel from a 1700/1800cc type 4 engine as the 228mm flywheel from a 2 litre is too big thickness wise, i t can be used but requires a lot of material to be removed from the bell housing which can greatly weaken the trans case, a 210/215 does not have this problem. Is the trans early or late? if its an early trans clearancing must be done regardless if its a type1 or type 4 flywheel a late trans was designed for the larger flywheel. A input bearing from the crank must be installed into the type 4 flywheel, this can be found in the type 4 crank, removal is easy, simply pack the crankshaft where the bearing is with grease and insert an input shaft from a trans or a suitable size piece of dowel and strike firmly with a softface hammer, hydraulic action pops the bearing out of the crank.

Damo.

Thanks for the tips. I will pass them on to Pete. Dunno if he knew about the input bearing but will have a chat in Syd 2day at the Nationals.
Thanks once more.
