how do i tell if a bug has matching numbers VIN Enging etc
from a vin can i tell what was the original engine no❓

not easily no, to do that u would need to get a birth certicate.
best way to get an idea is to look up the chassis and eng #s and see if there manufacture date is pretty close together
cos vw engines are so easy to remove and replace and the fact theyre all well over 30 years old now not to many stilll have original motors
what model are we talking about here?

the VIN number is actually the chassis number and located under the back seat on the chassis tunnel center section
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true
