Anyone here know much about removing an apron. I was wanting to make things easier to remove the Type 1 engine from my 64 clubcar but only if I can instal the engine with the carbies etc in place, otherwise I cant see it being worth my while.

Before anyone directs me to Al (Dasdubber) I have already established that he had to take carbs off etc, so that particular cut wouldnt suit me (Thanks Alan)

Do I just get more radical with the trimming - anyone have any experience with this.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I've done a removeable apron on an early '60 and a late '70. Mind you I don't have twin carbs but I think the problem is where it narrows at the back. Unless you can spin the engine as you drag it out removing the apron may not help.

Unless you cut the back half of the rear guards off, you will always need to remove carbs, or lift the car very high.
Still easier with removable apron, as you have more clearance behind the engine.

Still thinking about your offer....reckon about $360 as low as I could go.
