Wanted, 1600 engine

Hi there,

First of all I must appologise that my third post here on the forum is a 'wanted' thread. Please domt think of me as rude, simply eager to get Charlie up and going

Unfortunately for me I purchased my 71 low light with no engine. I went to the local VW mechanic and said that I wished to put in an 1800 or a 2L, but was very quickly informed that to do this would be quite difficult. So I have decided to stick with the 1600.....but.... he has quoted me a ball park of $2300 for a brand new engine, which does not include all of the other stuff that goes on the engine, so he said the final cost would be ALOT more. He suggested that I find a reasonable complete engine which he will reco for me. So, here I am, looking for a 1600 engine. If anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction, that would be fantastic.
