I'm looking at re-registering my bug sometime soon and i thought id have a look into the costs of upgrading the engine. Its currently a 1600 with the only addition being extractors and hotdog. I was wondering if there was anything that could be added with out to much hassle for a few more hp for not to much $$, or going down the other road and getting a whole new engine (1776, 1916?).

If i was to go with a new engine would anyone be able to point me in the right direction for finding out costs involved or any other info i would need?

get rid of the hot dog muffler and fit a nice quite one, get and electronic ignition system and a set of twin carbies you can add a set of 1.25 rockers as well
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Where can I get more info on the electronic ignition?

I should've added this to my last post, can anyone recommend some good places to check out in either Canberra or Melbourne for parts or engine work?
