argh! My beetle is driving me mad
I've had problems with the starter motor not working. Anyway, today I rollstarted the car and got it going, when I went to use an indicator the gen light came on. The indicator didnt work.
So after I turned it off, I noticed that when I turned the ignition key the starter motor is now turning over, but the gen and oil lights don't come on at all. An hour later I was having another look and now nothing happens at all. It's a new battery.
The loom appears to have been hacked around a lot since 1974, how difficult is it to find a complete beetle wiring loom.
Also when I put a multimeter across the battery terminals the reading goes steadily down, I suspect there's a short somewhere.
Is there anyone on the board in the Illawarra area that has any clue about electricals that can give me a hand?

mate sounds like a faulty genny or regulater make sure and radios are fitted so the the computer part is not on myswelf i would start with the regulater they have points like the dizzy and may be sticking you can clean them with wet and dry remove the reg and do the job just take a terminal of the battery first
good luck
