One of the locals had them on His 76 beetle for many years and never had any problems..
Car was sold this year..

even left them on during Rego checks...

Although...
things are changing..
as My insurance company asked if there were anything protruding from the front of the car...
[eg- fishing rod holders] can't remember if it was Green slip or car insurance company..

I have read where You don't need bumpers on beetles
as new cars no longer have them...

but I'd rather have two bumpers than none... lol...

cheers

Huh?

All new cars have bumpers. Just because they're all smooth and pretty doesn't mean it's not there underneath.

Craig - I ran T-bars on a couple of my cars and never had any issues at rego time, but I can't comment as to whether it was then, or is now, legal.

Barrys right
i ran them on my bug a couple of years ago
my old boss pink slips my bug usually so he turns a blind eye to alot of things about it but he did say that there not legal
was confirmed when a cop bagged me one night and said i need to remove them for the same reason

u can either stock bumpers or none at all but no Tbars

I never had a problem when i had to get a blue slip for a car i got from SA.
They knocked me back for the exhaust being exsposed not the T bars.

what Bizarre says is the NSW RTA rule NOW
😂🤪😂🤪😂
car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. 🥲

Yes, I know all cars do have Bumpers
but not sticking out like VW bumpers...

no protrusions

and i also expect problems for people with headlamp eyebrows

I'd hate to be hit by one...
