Hi all,

Well having rebuilt and run my new engine briefly (about 4 hours) there is definitely too much valve train clatter happening now. I have adjusted the valves 3 times to .004 intake and .006 exhaust - virtually no adjustment required.

Specs:

Eagle 2234 camshaft - cam card says lift @ the cam is .422
CB steel straight cuts
New 30mm lifters
Stock pushrods
stock type 3 rockers (1.1:1?)
berg swivel feet
new valves
seats machined (maybe 2nd time?)
CB hi-rev springs (no shims)

I think I will need to shim up the rocker arms to compensate for the extra lift...is that right? Or do I need diferent pushrods? Or both!?

There was no apparent binding anywhere when turning by hand.

Technically this is out of my depth but I can follow instructions and take measurements...

A little help would be great!

Cheers, Toby 👍

set em all @.004" and maybe shim the rockershafts to remove the wavey washers
from the thrust side or pulley end of motor
get rid of those Berg swivel feet

To try and simplify directions,
try to use a combination of rockerstand shims, and pushrods to get...

the adjusting screw inline with the valve stem at half lift.

Look in from the end of the shaft and use a dial indicator to measure the lift at the valve.

The berg swivel feet normally come with good instructions, and may be designed to use shims(?),
and you may need to use longer(or shorter?) pushrods.

Just remember:

ADJUSTER INLINE WITH VALVE STEM AT HALF LIFT.

I like to do away with the wavy washers too.

Once verything is checked and adjusted,
that cam has a fair bit of lobe lift, so it may just be a noisy profile.
